Alexandre Gama is one of Brazil’s most highly-regarded advertising executives. He currently owns Neogama, rated as one of the top 20 advertising agencies in Brazil, and founded it some two decades ago in 1999. Mr. Gama earned a degree in advertising from the Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation prior to beginning his advertising career, establishing a strong base to work from.
His first job came with Ogilvy & Mather, a long-established advertising group, as a copywriter and creator of content. Mr. Gama stayed at this company for eight years prior to moving on to DM9, another popular advertising agency. He started out as creative director and high-ranking copywriter for DM9, staying there for four years. in 1994, he earned other positions such as the creative executive director of Almap BBDO, CEO of Young & Rubicam — currently known as Y&R, and a member of the Global Board.
After serving Y&R for some six years, he founded Neogama, currently one of Brazil’s most popular promotional groups. Mr. Alexandre Gama has lived a fruitful career in advertising, serving on the board of the Brazilian Association of Advertising Agencies and being the foreman of D&AD’s International Film Jury. Mr. Gama has earned an astounding 23 Lions from the Cannes Festival.
