Lacrosse Star Jon Urbana Puts His Money Behind Earth Force in GoFundMe Pledge

Jon Urbana, professional lacrosse player and co-founder of the Jon Urbana Next Level Lacrosse Camp, has recently launched a new GoFundMe campaign to raise proceeds for Earth Force. Urbana recalls his childhood in Denver, Colorado and how the area taught him to love nature and its beauty, which is the driving force behind his decision to help Earth Force. The organization centers on a campaign that motivates youth to become active participants in improvement projects for their local environments as well as become activists.

Earth Force has a goal to raise $1,750 towards increasing the involvement of his Facebook fans in environmental issues like the importance of a clean world and a future that doesn’t rely on dirty energy, and all funds that are raised through Urbana’s Twitter campaign will go directly to this cause.

Urbana not only has a deep love for nature and a clean planet, but he has a history of working side by side with animals. He is the founder and owner of a lacrosse camp held each summer where he helps train athletes and hopes that he is helping shape them to become not only stellar players, but lovers of nature and environmental activists.

Along with his love of the sport lacrosse, Urbana is known for having numerous hobbies that have propelled him into somewhat of an internet celebrity. He showcases his photography and music skills on all his social media sites as well as information about charities and organizations he feels strongly about.

Recommend in 2016: Jon Urbana’s Next Level Lacrosse Camp

As sports nuts who follow aspiring talent all over the country, we’ve had our eye on lacrosse for a while. Being one of America’s fastest-growing sports, there’s no better way to improve your skills than attending a training camp. The intense drills and competitive atmosphere at the right camp can bring your game to another level.

With his background in collegiate sports as he played for Villanova last decade, Jon Urbana has a camp that’s the best in the Mountain West and probably one of the best in America. Next Level Lacrosse Camp is the place to send your kids if they have the time and you have the means.

Jon Urbana uses his well-rounded lacrosse background to mold every camper into not just a top-notch athlete and lacrosse player, but an advocate for all kinds of other causes too. For example, a local fundraising campaign being headed up by Urbana at GoFundMe is all being done in the name of Earth Force, an organization whose mission statement revolves around educating and inspiring young activists to promote great environmental causes. Media outlets around the country have taken note, with publications ranging from Bloomberg to covering the events.

And with deep-rooted connections to the Villanova lacrosse community and the business world (see Jon’s full resume at LinkedIn and read about his startups at CrunchBase), Jon Urbana has attracted a great deal of talent to support him in the staffing department. The camp has former and current professional lacrosse players and only gets better each year.

Urbana also does a lot of work in the animal world, protecting homeless kittens and other animals in need. In fact, a Crowdrise campaign he’s hosting is all in the name of the Animal Rescue and Adoption Society to help them increase their capacity to find more homes for more cats. You can watch the video here to learn more about Jon Urbana and ways you can help him.

When he isn’t running his camp each summer, Jon Urbana is Head of Business Development for Ellipse USA, another up and coming startup to watch that’s grown its revenue stream each year.

And believe it or not, Jon finds time to do even more than this. For one, the Aviation Business Gazette highlighted Jon Urbana’s mastery of aviation and the man takes some incredible pictures too. Jon Urbana’s Official Blog has some of the best photography we’ve seen all year and his Instagram page has stuff that you won’t see on the blog.

In addition to this, you can find Jon remixing songs at Soundcloud, with some more posted to his MTV account. When he isn’t taking pictures, he’s capturing video footage that he shares to sites like Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Vimeo, and YouTube.

Here’s one of our favorite videos he’s shared in 2016, which shows some of the best pictures he took last year.

Matt Landis – an Outstanding Notre Dame Lacrosse Player

A major reason Notre Dame’s Lacrosse team has been so highly successful is because of Matt Landis. Their star defenseman has won many awards for his outstanding play, both on and off the field. He finished his Junior year with four major honors including: the Atlantic Coast Conference 2015 ACC Defensive Player of the Year, Epoch and Lacrosse Magazine Player of the Week, was named to the All-American team, and won the William C. Schmeisser Award Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year.

The fighting Irish posted a 14-10 win over the Albany Great Danes with a great match-up between Landis and Albany’s star player, Lyle Thompson. Landis performance was a big key in the impressive win. His heavy use of the V-hold, along with his small pushes and body positioning were very successful in the match which caused Thompson to spend too much time dodging the ball.

Landis is a native of Pelham, New York and has done very well in balancing both his academic life and his sporting life. His primary studies are in the field of Finance at the Mendoza College of Business, but he also holds down a part-time job while enjoying golf, skiing, hiking, reading, skeet shooting, and volunteering. In spite of all his interests, he is still a normal All-American guy.
