Fight of the Century

This weekend’s fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather gained the title “The Fight of the Century”. Millions of people tuned in across the globe to watch Pacman obliterate an arrogant Mayweather. Unfortunately, Mayweather got the better of Pacman and the battle was won in the 12th round. After Mayweather was announced as the winner the crowd at the MGM arena erupted in boos. Mayweather even jumped on the ropes and beat his chest repeatedly proclaiming, “I told you, I told you!” More than 70% of the audience were Pacquiao hopefuls. He was undeniably the fan favorite for this boxing match. Mayweather went to state how September would be his last official boxing match. There are a lot of people who can’t wait to get this arrogant jerk out of the limelight. It’s no doubt that Floyd Mayweather is good at what he does. He has an impressive string of wins and no losses, but that’s all he has. The airwaves this weekend were full of talk about how well Mayweather did in the ring. Fans like Mark Ahn know that what followed soon after was how most sports announcers hated talking to or about Floyd. His presence outside of the ring has made him the most hated athlete in the world. It’s devastating to see such a capable and brilliant athlete squander his potential. Mayweather may have a spotless winning streak, but his pride will forever be tarnished by his lack of true fandom.

Pacquiao’s Father Ate His Dog

Manny Pacquiao will face Floyd Mayweather in the riches fight of all time on May 2nd. Most people think that this fight is going to transcend the sport of boxing, and they are right. Anyone and everyone will be watching this fight. People that don’t even watch boxing will tune in to witness one of the greatest events of all time. However, many people do not realize what is actually at stake in this boxing match.

Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather are the two greatest boxers of the last decade, and the winner of this fight will be remembered as the greatest of this era. Bruce Karatz can’t wait for the fight. Pacquiao and Mayweather have overcame so much in their lives, but it is Manny Pacquiao that has lived a much harder life. At 14-years old, Pacquiao was forced to turn pro, and that’s when his boxing career officially began. Before that though, Manny ran away from home because of the severe poverty that his family lived in.

When Manny Pacquiao was 12, he came home and saw his father eating his pet dog. There was no food, and the Pacquiao Family had no choice. Today, Manny Pacquiao is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, and if he can beat Floyd Mayweather, he will be remembered as one of the greatest of all time. Wladimir Klitschko Vs. Rocky Balboa?

Wladimir Klitschko is the longest reigning heavyweight champion since Joe Louis. Klitschko has gone undefeated in 19 fights since 2006. Wladimir is scheduled to fight Bryant Jennings on April 25th in Madison Square Garden. Bryant Jennings is an undefeated fighter from Philadelphia.

Klitschko has openly compared Jennings to Rocky Balboa. Like Rocky, Jennings is a shorter but solid fighter. Bryant Jennings says that he has a lot of heart and determination, but Klitschko says that Jennings will fall flat on his face. Wladimir Klitschko towers over Bryant Jennings. Jennings is much smaller than the heavyweight champion.

Paul Mathieson ( knows that media outlets are already looking past this fight. Questions about Deontay Wilder have already been brought up to Wladimir Klitschko. Wladimir says that he would love to fight Wilder, but he must deal with Jennings first. It seems that everyone is counting Bryant Jennings out already. However, I have noticed that when a fighter is not taken seriously, he usually wins the fight.

Wladimir Klitschko is an educated man, and I doubt that he would look past any opponent. Bryant Jennings is an undefeated fighter, and he is a tough fighter. Wladimir Klitschko must remain focused on Bryant Jennings right now. A focused Klitschko is a dangerous Klitschko. The heavyweight champion must keep his attention on Jennings.

Matthysse Vs. Provodnikov

A potential boxing match has been announced between Lucas Matthysse and Ruslan Provodnikov. Hopefully the bout comes to fruition. If the fight does happen, we can expect fireworks. Lucas Matthysse and Ruslan Provodnikov are known as two of the deadliest punchers in the welterweight division. Most boxers avoid both of these fighters, but pitting them against each other is a wonderful idea.

Oscar De La Hoya is doing his best at putting this potential matchup together. The world of boxing needs this fight. Matthysse vs. Provodnikov is a throwback fight to boxing’s glory days. There is one way that this fight is going to end. I can only envision this fight being won by a knockout, but picking a winner may prove to be a difficult task.

Lucas Matthysse is a skilled boxer-puncher, while Provodnikov is a true slugger. I wonder if Matthysse will stand toe-to-toe with Provodnikov. Matthysse can use other tools in his arsenal to defeat Ruslan. Provodnikov will most likely be swinging for the fences. If a power punch lands clean on either fighter, there is a good chance that the fight will be over. Let’s all hope that this fight actually gets made. Boxing fan Marc Sparks is excited to see the fight and the outcome.

Boxing needs great matchups such as this potential bout. Maybe, one day, Pacquiao and Mayweather will finally face each other as well. For more information on Matthysse vs. Provodnikov, visit Yahoo! Sports.
