“Bob Honey Who Just Do Stuff” Receives The Review Treatment

Actor and director Sean Penn has branched out to being a novelist. His first book is called, “Bob Honey Who Just Do Stuff” and it has been reviewed by both Entertainment Weekly and the New York Times among other publications. The Entertainment Weekly review calls the book a really trippy read while the New York Times reviewer says that it is a crazy novel that they regarded as quite the riddle.

The New York Times reviewer says that “Bob Honey Who Just Do Stuff” doesn’t really have a plot per se. It is instead about an antihero who chooses to sit on his couch and recall some of his exploits, which may or may not have actually happened. The main character really doesn’t like his ex-wife and he hooked up with her divorce lawyer. He also longs for a young lady by the name of Annie but it is uncertain if she actually exists or not.

“Bob Honey Who Just Do Stuff” is somewhat of a slim novel and is a quick read, according to the Entertainment Weekly writer. They say it started like as an audiobook Sean Penn had released in 2016. He had narrated the book himself, going by the name of Pappy Pariah. They say “Bob Honey Who Just Do Stuff” is a commentary on the times and a criticism of the Republican culture. It touches on police shootings, cops being killed, and a main character who is fighting against the status quo.

Towards the end of “Bob Honey Who Just Do Stuff”, the main character writes a letter to the President of the United States who is clearly Donald Trump from the description, including a reference to his “French Vanilla cotton candy hair”. This letter includes many buzzwords which have been popularized since the 2016 presidential election such as “fake news”, “alternative facts”, and so on. It also references Russia. The letter is written as someone who is thoroughly sick of Trump and reads as a manifesto against him and everything he represents in the modern day United States.
