The Capitol Anesthesiology Association, based in Austin, TX and established in 1973, is one of the nation’s largest practices specializing solely in anesthesiology. CAA boasts a staff of over 80 Medical Doctors and 130 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, all working together to provide exceptional care to more than 20 medical facilities in the greater Austin area.
Capitol Anesthesiology Association offers a wide range of services to meet community needs. General anesthesia is used during extensive surgeries, usually in regions such as the chest, heart, or brain. Regional anesthesia is used to alleviate localized pain, both during and after an operation. CAA also offers specialized services such as obstetric anesthesia to ease the pain of mothers in labor, and cardiovascular and thoracic anesthesia, necessary for cardiac surgery.
Long supporters of their local community, CAA staff engage in various philanthropic pursuits, with many practitioners donating their skills and time to nonprofit groups that benefit the disadvantaged. The charities they support include Austin Smiles, a nonprofit working to provide reconstructive plastic surgery to the children of central Texas. They also provide care to the Family Eldercare organization, which provides essential services to adults and seniors with disabilities. Their philanthropy also extends to several other wonderful nonprofits, including (but not limited to) Eeels on Wheels, Operation Smile, and the Children’s Medical Center Foundation.
